Many people have strong feelings about the value of television, especially now that programmes are available through satellite and over the Internet. There are those who suggest that increased access to these programmes does more harm than good. However, there are those who insist that is it a good thing.
People from the first category, claim that satellite and Internet TV has a lot of negative sides. For example, some available programmes may not be cultural appropriate. These types of programmes may cause some intellectual and cultural changes in people; people’s speech and vocabulary can get worse. Secondly, people (especially children) have access to programmes with unsuitable content. There are a lot of cases, when children watched inappropriate programmes, so parents were forced to ban these channels. Another bad thing about satellite and Internet TV is that it takes a lot of time. People become addicted, and want to watch TV more and more. In result, children don’t have time for homework and sports; adults have no time for hobbies, family etc.

Our report is devoted to the studies of epic forms. Epics stands in the centre of the collective mind in the period of sacred connection of a person with the world. Epics expresses the reflection of the ancient world-view (). We took two: Acadian Epics of Gilgamesh (IV – III т B C) and Karelian and Finnish Kalevala (). They were created at different periods of time in different regions and by different peoples. Besides we could not work with original texts but we dealt with the translations fulfilled by Dyakonov and Shaginan which are considered to be the best ones. How can we compare them? And are we allowed in fact to compare them?

Gelvonuose buvo klebono Danevičiaus tarnu. Pagal A. Baranausko dienoraščius, tarp 1848 ir 1851 m. jis išmokęs rusiškai. 1851–1853 m. buvo nusiųstas mokytis į Rumšiškių raštininkų mokyklą. Po jos baigimo dirbo valsčių kanceliarijose Sedoje, Vainute, Skuode, Raseiniuose (1853–1856 m.).

This is what the atmosphere looks like viewed edge on from space. The image is of a small cross-sectional area, note the small curvature of the surface, yet the atmosphere is a small part of the whole. Looking closely, you can see tall thunderstorm clouds silhouetted against an orange layer of atmospheric gases backlit by the sun just below the horizon. Above this layer is the clear blue of the stratosphere and the blackness of space.
